Disclaimer: This is not meant to be funny. This is meant to satirize how carelessly a serious subject has been handled. It is also not a defense for Kanye; what he did was selfish and Taylor will never get that moment back. However, I felt it necessary to raise the issue of race. Age certainly wasn’t the difference, considering both incidents transpired in 2009 and Rihanna is only one year older than Taylor

I’d also like to add that if Chris Brown beat the shit out of Taylor Swift instead of Rihanna his ass would be in jail right nowx

Correction, He would be UNDER the jail.

You know what’s sick? The reasoning behind why they forgave him:

  • she’s tall she could take him
  • she’s Caribbean she could take him
  • she bit him!
  • she looks like she has a temper
  • he said he was sorry
  • she prolly provoked him

No, stop stop stop STOP

WELL RIHANNA FORGAVE HIM SO YOU GUYS SHOULD FORGIVE HIM TOO

He hasn’t done anything that makes him even close to being eligible for redemption. Throwing a hissy fit on national television and telling someone to fuck off on Twitter is some high school shit.

I dont understand why everything has to turn into a matter of race this is ridiculous

Because race matters in every aspect of the lives of people of color? It impacts us financially, socially, & always has? I mean, reality, how does it work?

Man, it is totally ridiculous! I mean, you interrupt a woman accepting an award, and you’re a douchetruck forever; you beat one up, and you’re a hero. That’s obviously ridiculous, and definitely isn’t what you’d expect would happen there. So there’s probably something else at play—like how if Kanye weren’t black, he’d probably still have been called a douche that day, but it likely would’ve been forgotten a week later. And like how if Rihanna were white, Chris Brown would probably still be unwelcome, if not in jail.

So you’re right. It’s totally ridiculous that in America, in the twenty-first century, this is still a race issue. Good call!

“Our house was small, and when you grow up with domestic violence in a confined space you learn to gauge, very precisely, the temperature of situations. I knew exactly when the shouting was done and a hand was about to be raised – I also knew exactly when to insert a small body between the fist and her face, a skill no child should ever have to learn. Curiously, I never felt fear for myself and he never struck me, an odd moral imposition that would not allow him to strike a child. The situation was barely tolerable: I witnessed terrible things, which I knew were wrong, but there was nowhere to go for help. Worse, there were those who condoned the abuse. I heard police or ambulancemen, standing in our house, say, “She must have provoked him,” or, “Mrs Stewart, it takes two to make a fight.” They had no idea. The truth is my mother did nothing to deserve the violence she endured. She did not provoke my father, and even if she had, violence is an unacceptable way of dealing with conflict. Violence is a choice a man makes and he alone is responsible for it.”

She got a little upset. Girls do that.

Ohio state Senator Kris Jordan (R), to a deputy after his wife called 911 to request assistance because Jordan was pushing her around, drunk, for what she said was one of “numerous times” over the last two years. Last week, the city prosecutor announced he won’t file charges. (Mother Jones)
